Getting started
Hatch your egg, name your pal, and pick a few daily goals. Pip's four meters (Food, Energy, Calm and Sparkle) fill as you look after yourself. "Set up your day" on Home helps with sleep times, vitamin and med reminders, and anything you're taking a break from.
Logging meals
Search foods is free for everyone. With Hatchling Plus, tap "Tell Pip what you ate" and say it the way you'd tell a friend, or type it. Check the foods and amounts, then Confirm. Tap any meal on Today to fix it, or add one you forgot to an earlier day. Made a batch? Tap "Made a batch? Split it" and pick how many portions.
Goals and Pip's meters
Movement snacks count one per hour, like Apple's stand hours. Stand hours and workouts from Apple Health count automatically. A rest day always counts as care. Fasting and the calorie range are only offered to adults.
Dino Derby
Start a 3 or 7 day race from Home > Dino Derby and send the invite to one friend. Each day, meeting your own goals moves your pal forward. Nobody sees your meals or minutes. Touch and hold a racer to report a name or block someone. You can sit a race out at any time.
Hatchling Plus
Plus adds meal reading by voice and typing, and a few extra shop items. Manage or cancel it in the Settings app > your name > Subscriptions. To restore a purchase on a new device, open Hatchling > Settings > Restore purchases.
Account and sync
Sign in with Apple in Settings to sync Pip and your meals between your devices, with a daily backup you can restore from Settings > Backups. To delete your account and its backups, open Settings > Account > Delete account.
Troubleshooting
Pip didn't understand my meal
Say the food and an amount, like "a cup of Greek yogurt with blueberries." Check you're connected to the internet; without it, Pip looks foods up on its own and asks you to check them.
My watch and iPhone don't match
Open Hatchling on both. They catch up with each other when either one opens.
Apple Health steps or workouts aren't counting
Open the Health app > Sharing > Apps > Hatchling and turn on the categories you want to share.
