Getting started

Tap Start, then face down a hallway or across your room. An amber outline on the floor shows where the lane will go: turn your head to aim it, then tap Place lane. The far end of the lane opens into a portal, and the alley carries on beyond your room.

Bowling

The ball waits in a rack just behind you, on your bowling-hand side. Close your hand around it to pick it up, swing your arm back and forward, and open your hand to let go. The speed and direction of your swing set the ball's speed and line, and turning your wrist adds hook. Aim assist in Settings gives a gentle nudge toward the pocket. Left-handed? Turn on "I bowl left-handed" in Settings, then move the lane.

Your space

Choose the lane length on the Place your lane screen: Regulation (18.29 m to the head pin), 10 m, 6 m, or Fit room, which measures your space and sizes the lane to it. Turn on Mini lane to shrink the lane for a narrow hallway. If a real wall is nearer than the end of the lane, the portal opens in that wall. You can move the lane at any time from Settings.

Keep the area around you clear of people, pets and things you could hit while you swing.

Robot opponents

Bowl alone or pick an opponent: Pip (rookie), Gutter (regular), Velvet (pro) or Nana-9 (champion). They take their turns on the lane next to yours and say what they think in speech bubbles.

Stats and quick games

Your average, high game and games played count full 10-frame games only. Quick games (3 frames, turned on in Settings) still count toward your strike and spare percentages. Your best score is posted to the Game Center leaderboard if you are signed in to Game Center.

Troubleshooting

The ball won't pick up

Make sure your hand is in view, reach right into the ball, and close your whole hand. Hands work best in good light.

The ball lets go too early

Keep your hand closed through the backswing and only open it on the way forward.

The lane runs into my furniture

Choose a shorter length or Fit room, or tap Move lane in Settings and place it again.
